Friday, December 6 - "Are There Any Jobs Easy to Get?"
Happy Friday!
This weekend marks the end of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, which is terribly sad for all the 13 year old girls who read this.
Here’s what’s on the job description for today:
A big company hiring a ton of product and other commercial roles.
Louis asks, “I’m looking for a product management position but haven’t had any luck. Are there any easier fields?”
“Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.”
IN HIRING
Visa
No surprise that one of the biggest financial institutions in the world continues to hire all around the world, providing great benefits to those who can make it through their selection process.
With over 500 product-related roles and a history of sponsoring visas, this a fantastic opportunity.

TODAY’S QUESTION
Louis asks, “I’m looking for a product management position but haven’t had any luck. Are there any easier fields?”
Recommendation: This is a great and difficult question. Here are my thoughts:
First, there are definitely jobs that are less competitive than product roles. If you had years of AI experience, you may have an easier time of it, but without the experience, those roles are nearly impossible.
Second, the difficulty comes in the sheer volume of applicants to jobs that a wider audience could apply for such as consulting or project manager. Those areas are more competitive and just finding an interview at the moment is a serious challenge.
Finally, I would think more broadly about your abilities. Think about different industries which are less appealing to the masses but you have some experience in.
As well, working for a startup can be a fantastic way to get yourself into a job market and learn a ton. These roles can be found through networking or looking online but are less competitive and the hiring process is usually much more simple.
Conclusion:
The only easier job is one for a less sexy company or industry. Outside of that, be creative and search in areas outside of your comfort zone to see what’s available.
