TODAY’S QUESTION
Today’s Question: “I saw a few people from my program getting interviews for consulting. Is it back and hiring?””
Recommendation: consulting has been pretty weak for a few months, maybe longer. Here’s what I’m seeing:
First, consulting in general still hasn’t made a come back to where it was pre- or post-covid times.
There has still not been the big cohort-based hiring that we used to see.
Second, I have seen a big jump in the number of interviews being given out by consulting firms.
These are on specific teams which are growing. If you’re able to bring industry specific experience, there may be an opportunity available.
Finally, while being open in terms of geography isn’t as useful in consulting, due to language requirements, opportunities are more available if you’re willing to live outside of the major cities like London, New York, or San Francisco.
Conclusion:
While consulting isn’t quite “back”, there are opportunities for those who are searching. It’s all dependent on which industry and where you’re looking at the moment.
Have a great day,
Adam
